How many small-group leaders should a coach/shepherd be responsible for?

I agree, I am the Director for Direct Path's Youth Ministry and I had to take on alot of different jobs but i ask God for the strength and the will power to keep doing hids will!
It depends on what your want your coach/shepherd to do for small group leaders? To be a relationaly active influence the leaders life, a coach/shepherd is only going to have the capacity to do that well for a few group leaders (2-5), particularly if shepherding group leaders is something they do in addition to a full-time vocation or other ministry responsibilities. Some churches have hired full or part-time coaches with the job description of only working with group leaders. In these cases, spans of care sometimes increase to 25 or more group leaders, but this takes a specially gifted person who has the emotional capactity to manage that many relationships well.
