Organize Your Small Group

Our small-group ministry has grown to the point where we need some kind of infrastructure to manage everything. Where do we start?

We have only just started a coaching structure ourselves, but what I did was to recruit 6 people who are experienced group leaders who lead well and are committed to the values of our SG ministry. I asked them to coach 2 leaders which covered 12 of our newest groups. I hoped to add new groups until they each had 4 but the consensus seems to be that they prefer to stay at 2 each. So far, I spend an hour each month one-on-one with the coaches and encourage them inbetween by email and/or phone, which mirrors the contact they have with their leaders. My hope was the support for the leaders would facilitate their spiritual growth, enhance their leadership skills and help them stay connected to the mission/vision of the church. The jury is still out on whether it works! Would love to hear what others are doing with their coaches.
